It always came naturally to me to put Bible verses on my walls. Somehow I just knew that putting scripture on your wall would speak even when you’re silent. There have been times where I’ve used a mechanical pencil to write tiny scriptures in unnoticeable places when I need to shift something for a friend.
When I started thinking about Lower Still Life, I wondered what would happen if all those scriptures---instead of being on the walls of my home---were on the walls of my body? What would happen if the Word of God came with me wherever I went? The difference was profound! My son is 10 years old, and his favorite sweatshirt is Here.
It says, quite simply, “Believers will be given the power to perform miracles…” It’s from Mark 16:17. It's not a nice thought or a peaceful platitude; it's the Holy Word of God! It’s the Truest Truth…and it’s on my 10-year-old son’s back! What do you think will become of my little man? I tell you what...I have a few good ideas!
